Desert Lynx fall short in MBA final

Playing in their fifth game of the weekend, the Southwest Desert Lynx came up short in the Military Basketball Association championship game against Walter Reed Lady Jaguars 80-74. Both teams came into the final with four wins in the three-day tournament held in Denver.

The El Paso-based Desert Lynx went a perfect 3-0 in round robin play with wins over Mile High Monarchs (94-58), Denver Dynasty (82-59) and Central Texas Military (97-74). They defeated Kansas City Royal Heirs/Las Vegas Gems in the semifinal on Sunday morning to earn their spot in the championship game.

Three other WBDA teams competed at the MBA Finals, with mixed results.
